In 2026, Probus Clubs across the country will be celebrating 50 years of Probus in Australia with a wide range of festivities, events and special offers which will begin on our 50th birthday on 3rd February 2026.
Established in Australia in 1976, Probus has evolved into a network of social clubs that unite individuals through shared interests and regular activities. Currently, Probus boasts over 90,000 members across 1,300 clubs nationwide, with each club reflecting the distinctive character of its local community.
The positive impact of Probus has garnered recognition from various levels of government, including the Governor General of Australia, who has emphasized the significant role Probus plays in enriching the lives of older Australians.
Each Probus club is operated by its members and provides activities tailored to local interests, ranging from social gatherings and outings to guest speakers and community engagement.
